The 13th International Exhibition on Woodworking Machinery and Furniture Manufacturing Equipment (WMF 2010) and The 13th International Exhibition on Furniture Accessories, Materials and Wood Products (FAM2010) achieved a thrilling closing on Mar 13, 2010. This 4-day mega event successfully attracted trade visitors from 73 countries and regions, reaching a remarkable visitor attendance of 26,018.

Gala Event with Celebrated Buyers
WMF2010 & FAM2010 were inaugurated in 1986 and have witnessed the growth of China's woodworking industry as well as related business for 23 years. Through the display of highly cost-effective woodworking machinery, equipments and materials, the shows have been drawing the attention of global trade visitors in every edition and this year was no exception. Many Chinese associations had confirmed their visit almost half year before the show opened. For instance, Shandong Furniture Association, Beijing Building, Door and Window Industrial Association, Anji Bamboo and Woodworking Machinery Association as well as the buyer groups from ShiJiaZhuang City and Xianghe of Hebei Province, etc. Among all, Langfang Woodworking and Furniture Manufacture Profession Association and Sichuan Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Furniture were the first time to organize delegations. The response of overseas buyers was encouraging too. Buyer groups from Algeria, Bosnia, Japan, Korea, India, Indonesia, Iran, Lithuania, Romania, Russia and Turkey had come and supported the fair.

Added to this, many top-ranked furniture enterprises demonstrated their support to WMF2010 & FAM2010. For example: Guangming group, Landbong Furniture, Power Dekor, IKEA, Qingdao Yimu, Shenzhen HaoMai, Doton, etc. While Shandong Xinbo Wooden Product, Great Furniture, Tianjing Shoutai, Yichun Xincheng Furniture, Velux Group (China), Beijing Sun Laboratory Equipment, Beijing Haya Group, Baoding Qidian Office Furniture, Jilin Tengda Wooden Product, Henan Jiamei Wooden Product, Zhonghai Decoration, Beijing Guangzhong Decoration and more had organized buyer groups and visited the shows.

Nicest Compliments by Both Exhibitors and Visitors
Serving as a professional and convenient one-stop sourcing platform, WMF2010 & FAM2010 have provided a comprehensive product range to all woodworking industrial players. Mr. Li Jianguo, General Secretary of Langfang Woodworking and Furniture Manufacture Profession Association said, "Our affiliates mainly look for bending, sealing and sticking machine, together with related supporting tools / hardware. WMF & FAM provide all kinds of exhibitors and products we want. Besides, the services are very good. We shall visit again in next edition."

Technical Director of Liaoning Great Furniture, Mr. Li Yudong was delighted to express, "This is my first time to visit WMF. The overall comment is good, especially on the comprehensive machinery display. I have met many accessories exhibitors of knife & blade, motor as well as panel board manufacturers. This trip is fruitful and I gain much." Mr. Bei Yong, Manager of Shenzhen Hui Pui Wood Industry also claimed, "I visit WMF every edition as I can see the new development, trend and technology of woodworking industry here. What's more, I can mingle with old and new customers, strengthening our business relationship."

For overseas visitors, Mr. Tom Janouschek from Major Woodworking Equipment (Australia) said contentedly, "I visited WMF & FAM once in 2008. The show is wonderful. I am looking for woodworking machinery here and have already concluded several transactions." Mr. Jun Aoyagi, President of Kotobuki Industry (Japan) replied that the purposes in visiting were to obtain the latest information of Chinese and worldwide industrial news, as well as to see the Chinese woodworking machinery, equipment and blade. He then mentioned, "In Japan, we do not have any similar event in such scale. I know the show from internet; your services are very good." Mr. Gregory K Larson, President of TimeSavers in US also did similar comments. He said, "The show is very interesting and I am impressed with the quality of equipment here. It is a good place to meet a lot of people and I cannot think of any ways for further improvement."

On the other side, WMF & FAM received numerous compliments from local and overseas exhibitors. Among all, representative from Lian Zhong Lian mentioned, "We sold many woodworking machineries during this 4-day event. The result is satisfying." With fruitful show content & diversified and extensive promotion campaigns, together with the positive signs of global economic recovery, some exhibitors claimed that many new orders were received at WMF2010 & FAM2010. Some manufacturers even have to increase production lines or re-prioritize orders so as to meet the demand from clients.

Series of concurrent events were held during the show. Over 200 exhibitors had joined the "Booth Special Design Competition" and visitors enthusiastically voted for "The Most Creative Booth Design Award", "The Most Contemporary Booth Design Award" and "The Best Display Award". In addition, technical seminars including "The Application of Electrical / Thermal Energy Plant in OSB / MDF / PB Industry" (Mar 10), "FCS (Full Control System) for Wood Based Panel Sanding Machine" and "PIM All-Carbide Wood-working Drill and Application" (Mar 11) provided valuable opportunities to all industrial players for learning up-to-date technical skills and attaining the latest market information.

Magnificent Asia's No.1 Woodworking Expo
Exhibiting area of WMF2010 & FAM2010 reached 60,000sqm, occupying all halls in CIEC. The shows received enormous support by 583 renowned exhibitors from 14 countries and regions, together with 7 pavilions including Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI), Taiwan Woodworking Machinery Association (TWMA), Qingdao, Shanghai and Lunjiao Woodworking Machinery, showcasing the latest machinery & technology to the industry, demonstrating 2,000 latest machines and equipment, related technologies and products at the fairground.

WMF & FAM are exclusively supported by Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers (EUMABOIS). The honorary organizers of WMF and FAM are the State Forestry Administration of P.R. China, China International Exhibition Centre Group Corporation and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. The organizers include China National Forestry Machinery Association, Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd., China Forestry Group Corporation and China Building Decoration Association.
